Soon-to-be local residents, Barry Hartung and Karolyn Paul have made October ’07 a month to remember – a romantic proposal and slightly less romantic camp-out at Carramar Golf Course Estate to secure their new homesite!
It’s not often you conquer two of life’s biggest milestones in a single week, but Barry started October with a proposal to partner and fellow police officer Karolyn during a holiday in Yallingup.
Just a few days later, the newly engaged couple spent a chilly Friday night camped outside the Carramar Golf Course Estate sales office, eager to secure their dream block in the Delamare Park precinct.
The young couple fell in love with each other, and then – a few years ago – with the Carramar Golf Course Estate when Barry’s mum bought a lot in an earlier release.
Desperate not to miss out on starting their new lives together at the estate, Barry and Karolyn camped out overnight to make sure they were “first in best dressed” for one of 21 lots available in the Stage 12 Delamare Park release.
“We knew right from the start which block we wanted and we were determined to get it.”
“For us, it is ideal – there is a beautiful park nearby and the environment is perfect for raising a family. We just get a really good feeling about it,” said Mr Hartung.
Barry and Karolyn are not alone with strong interest and steady sales continuing despite a general slow down in the housing market.
There are a variety of options currently available to buyers with lots priced from $232,000 in the family oriented Delamare Park including a number park side homesites with Carramar Heights homesites priced from $274,000.
Peet Limited Managing Director, Brendan Gore, said Carramar Golf Course Estate has established itself as one of the most popular residential developments in Perth’s northern corridor.
“More than 90% of the homesites at Carramar have sold since the first release in 1995,” said Mr Gore.
“In that time, a very strong community has been established at Carramar, with many residents becoming second and third time buyers in the estate,” Mr Gore said.
The estate is conveniently located between Currambine and Joondalup train stations, and only minutes from the ocean.
A new community centre, two primary schools and a secondary school are located within the estate.
Construction of the $20 million Carramar Neighbourhood Shopping Centre is currently underway and when it opens in late 2008 will be open to a major supermarket and up to 16 specialty stores.
