Carramar tavern restaurant one step closer

Development of a new $3.5 million family tavern restaurant at the Carramar Golf Course Estate in Perth’s northern suburbs is one step closer after the Wanneroo City Council approved a Peet Limited and the Yatala Unit Trust’s plans for the project recently.

The 4,012sqm site is located at the corner of Joondalup Drive and Cheriton Drive with 1,034sqm allocated for the tavern building itself.

Plans will see four quality bar and alfresco areas developed which will accommodate up to 360 patrons. A 106sqm boutique takeaway liquor shop, with drive through service and a 71 bay on-site car park are also included in the design.

Peet Limited Managing Director Brendan Gore said approval for this development marked another important milestone for Peet Commercial.

“This project is an example of Peet Limited’s commitment to create integrated, total communities that add real value to the people who invest and live in them,” Mr Gore said.

“The tavern restaurant will provide the residents of Carramar Golf Course Estate and the surrounding community with contemporary bar and restaurant facilities within close proximity to home. It will be a family friendly place for people to meet and enjoy a meal together," he said.

The tavern will also provide further local employment opportunities, with the development expected to generate more than 40 jobs.

Peet Limited is also developing the $20 million Carramar Neighbourhood Shopping Centre which will provide a 3,200 square metre supermarket, with a further 1,800 square metres of retail space set to accommodate up to 16 specialty shops and 250 square metres designated for other uses such as medical.

“Peet Limited is about developing communities close to public transport, recreational facilities and other amenities – and, in many cases, that will mean that we take on the development of facilities such as shopping centres, child care centres and other commercial accommodation,” Mr Gore said.

Peet Commercial is responsible for the planning, development and management of a wide range of commercial facilities across Australia. It provides high-quality, accessible commercial facilities such as childcare, medical facilities and shopping centres, particularly for the benefit of residents of Peet’s land estates.

There are already plans for further retail and commercial developments across Australia.
