Burns Beach Estate public artworks add to visual appeal

Peet Limited’s beautiful Burns Beach Estate continues to take shape with the recent completion of a series of stunning public artworks adding to its visual appeal.

Talented Western Australian artists Andrew Kay and Coral Lowry were selected from a shortlist of artists, to craft and display their unique vision for the fast-growing community.

Over the past six months they have been working on their pieces and Andrew Kay has just finished putting the final touches on his installations. Mr Kay, said his works took inspiration from the history of Burns Beach as a place where families would escape from the city to their fishing shacks, to enjoy summer breaks and relax in a makeshift paradise.

His creations for the estate include two bronze cast sculptures – one of seagulls surrounding a bucket of fish, and the second of a dog catching a frisbee in the local park, as well as a steel skeleton of a row boat which will be situated in the dunes with a bronze seahorse adorning the
bow.

“The pieces I have created are a small vignette of the history of Burns Beach approached with a sense of humour,” said Mr Kay. “The vision of a dog catching a frisbee represents fun and leisure whilst the seagulls provide the perfect opportunity for kids to explore,” he said.

Burns Beach Estate already boasts enormous recreational benefits with boardwalks leading down to the beach, a look-out tower, barbecue facilities and shelters, outdoor showers and vast areas of public open space.

Peet Limited Managing Director Brendan Gore said the public artworks were an integral part of the estate’s overall design. “It’s wonderful to see the completion of the artworks,” said Mr Gore.

“They will become real landmarks for the estate and add another dimension to the areas of public open space.” “The presentation of the estate is really taking shape and we’ve been receiving really positive feedback from the growing Burns Beach Estate community,” Mr Gore said.

For others looking to enjoy this beautiful coastal lifestyle, there is currently a great range of homesites available throughout the estate and there are more releases planned for the coming months.

The coastal Stage 3B featuring some of the most sought-after land at the Estate has been met with strong demand. There are now nine lots remaining in this stage with an average size of 635sqm and priced from $610,000. Many of these homesites offer stunning ocean views and are all in great proximity to the oceanfront itself.

First release for Twin Rivers

The first lots from the highly anticipated Twin Rivers Estate in Australind are set to go on sale in March 2008.

Beautifully positioned at the junction of the picturesque Collie and Brunswick rivers, this exclusive 126-lot estate has been developed by Peet Limited on behalf of the Marist Brothers.

With some lots offering glimpses of the estuary and others with views to the Ferguson Valley, the Twin Rivers Estate is expected to generate considerable interest among locals as well as those seeking a lifestyle change.

Peet Limited Managing Director, Brendan Gore, said the Twin Rivers Estate represented a rare opportunity to buy prime vacant land in a residential estate which embraced its natural surroundings.

“Less than a third of the 37 hectare site will be developed for residences with the remainder retained as bushland,” Mr Gore said.

“We believe the Twin Rivers Estate offers residents a lifestyle strongly connected with the local community and nature.

“Nowhere else in Australind will you find land for sale in such a prime location with such outstanding views.

Twin Rivers Estate is in a class of its own and offers a rare opportunity for those people looking for land a step above the rest.”

During the first stage release, 31 lots averaging 678m2, many with impressively wide frontages will become available. All lots are fully retained and will include boundary fencing and front landscaping.

Located on Barnes Avenue, Twin Rivers represents one of the last opportunities to buy land in the heart of Australind, so close to the town centre. Everything residents will need for a relaxing lifestyle is nearby.

On the doorstep of the estate are a good variety of shops and three excellent schools. Golfers will be spoiled for choice with both the Bunbury Golf Club and The Sanctuary Golf Course just minutes away.

Importantly, the regional hub of Bunbury, with its restaurants, cafes and shops and its highly regarded schools, is a short 10 minute drive.

Australian Bureau of Statistics figures show the average annual population in the greater Bunbury area grew 3.4 per cent each year in the five years to 2006 – thousands of people looking for a sea change without significant loss of amenity.

Mr Gore said this statistic was indicative of a greater desire among people to enjoy a country lifestyle without missing out on the advantages of living within striking distance of a city centre.

Twin Rivers Estate offers all the benefits of a relaxed country lifestyle but at the same time is close enough to Bunbury for residents to find everything they need just a short drive away.

“Good schools, good restaurants and high-quality sporting or entertainment facilities all are within minutes of the Twin Rivers Estate.”

Peet Limited is a national diversified property group with the third largest land bank of any ASX listed property group – around 38,000 lots with an estimated on completion value of $7.6 billion.

It currently manages and markets around 70 company-owned, syndicated and joint venture estates in Western Australia, Victoria, Queensland and, more recently, New South Wales.

Campers snap up land at Innisfail

Strong demand for prime blocks saw more than 20 people camp out for up to two days ahead of the latest release of land at Peet Limited’s Innisfail Estate.

Young families were among those eager to join the queue to secure their favourite block amongst the 21 lots released as part of Stage 17A on Saturday.

Members of Peet’s project team delivered pizzas and mushroom heaters to warm the weary waiting crowd on Friday night as the release grew closer.

Their patience was rewarded with all but two blocks snapped up quickly and many buyers planning to build immediately.

Attracted by generous lot sizes and close proximity to schools and other amenities, many families have already moved to the master-planned estate.

The lots in Stage 17A ranged in size from 448sqm to 720sqm and were priced from $170,000 to $230,000.

One of the campers, Phillip Loft, 29, said the larger block sizes on offer had encouraged him to buy in Stage 17.

“I arrived about 5pm on the Friday before the release and by the time the doors opened, there were at least 20 people in line,” Mr Loft said.

“I previously bought in Stage 5 at Innisfail and I really like the area. I have a young family and it’s a great location.”

Peet Limited Managing Director Brendan Gore said the result was very positive and positions the estate well for future releases.

“This is a great result for Innisfail and with more than half of the estate’s 1,800 lots already sold, a vibrant local community has been established throughout the estate,” Mr Gore said.

Located just 20 minutes from Melbourne’s CBD, land at Innisfail Estate has been highly sought after since the first releases five years ago.

Innisfail boasts a choice of schools as well as medical facilities, banks, a major shopping centre and other amenities close by.

For more information about future releases at Innisfail Estate, contact Minloo Germann on (03) 9395 2155 or visit www.peetinnisfail.com.au.

The Innisfail Sales Office is located at 9 Innisfail Drive, Point Cook and is open Saturday to Wednesday from 12pm to 5pm.

Green light for Brigadoon development

The City of Swan Council has unanimously supported Peet Limited’s plans for the development of a special rural land estate at Brigadoon.

This comes following a lengthy period of planning and consultation with the City of Swan and members of the local community.

Peet Limited Managing Director Brendan Gore said they were very pleased to have reached this important milestone.

“We have worked closely with the community and Council to get to this point and believe we have a best practice plan in place for the development of the Brigadoon site,” said Mr Gore.

“It’s a wonderful area and Peet will continue to work closely with the City of Swan to create a sustainable community that is in keeping with the characteristics of the existing environment,” he said.

The 214 lots proposed – some with views to the city – will range in size from 1.5 hectares to 5.05 hectares, with an average size of 1.9 hectares.

Future residents will enjoy close proximity to Bells Rapids and be just 10 minutes from Midland and the Swan Valley.

Another attraction is the significant amount of the site - 393 hectares of the 861 hectare property – being preserved as natural bushland or regional open space. Preserving this land as bush means it connects with a further 10,000 hectares of protected bushland around the estate including Walyunga National Park.

In addition, there is planned to be a number of community facilities and amenities provided by Peet Limited as part of the development including a community centre, tennis court and lookout posts.

The project will now progress through the detailed design phase, with work expected to commence on site later this year.
