A beautiful blue sky and flawless summer weather provided the perfect setting for an enthusiastic crowd to enjoy themselves at Lakelands Private Estate last weekend, but one lucky Perth family had an extra reason to smile.
100,000 extra reasons to be exact.
The scene was set for a nervous wait on Saturday (29 March) as Susan and Wayne Marriott and 19 other finalists – including Dawesville resident Megan Sanders and Nadine Sheridan of Halls Head – gathered for the final draw of Peet Estates’ ‘100 Grand for Land’ competition.
Nerves soon gave way to excitement as Susan ‘dug out’ the winning case in a special sand-box and dusted off a cheque for an incredible $100,000 towards a block of land at their chosen Peet estate.
Overwhelmed by their win, Susan and Wayne said the money will make it possible for them to move from Hope Valley to The Village at Wellard where they would be closer to their family.
But they weren’t the only winners on the day. Each of the 19 “runners-up” went home winners too – winning $10,000 off their chosen homesite at one of Peet’s nine Western Australian estates, if they make their purchase by the end of the year.
Peet Limited Managing Director, Brendan Gore, said the competition offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for all the finalists to secure their own piece of the ‘great Australian dream’.
“With interest rates on the rise and housing affordability challenging an increasing number of homebuyers, Peet Estates has created a unique opportunity to kick start the dreams 20 Western Australian families who want to live in a Peet estate but haven’t had the means to make it happen yet,” Mr Gore said.
“We are thrilled for Susan and Wayne and also for the opportunity to offer the other lucky finalists a great start to making their property dreams a reality.”
The competition capped of another eventful weekend at Lakelands Private Estate which saw scores of visitors enjoy the numerous activities put on as part of the opening celebrations for the newly constructed builders display village.
The display village showcases 21 new home designs from some of Perth most renowned builders with many styles specifically suited to Lakelands Private Estate.
A major attraction was Renew Environmental consultant Sarah Molloy, who provided residents and visitors to the estate with expert advice on water-wise measures for the home and garden.
Next weekend, 4 Rooms Interior Design Consultant Jane Fyfe will be on hand from 1pm to 4pm on Saturday 5 April and Sunday 6 April to offer Perth homeowners a little design inspiration and expert design advice.
The whole community is invited to join the celebration and enjoy the host of activities at Lakelands Private Estate this weekend, including face-painting, an animal petting farm and roving bands.
