Lakelands resident on track for adventure of a lifetime

Most people living in the southern suburbs already think the Perth to Mandurah train line is excellent, but for Graeme Cramond it has been the ticket to the adventure of a lifetime.

The Lakelands Private Estate resident and lifelong train enthusiast said he was stunned when he found out he was the lucky winner of the Lakelands Great Train Adventure Competition.

After correctly answering a simple question as part of the train-themed competition sponsored by Peet Limited’s award-winning Lakelands Private Estate, Graeme’s entry was drawn as the winner!

“I couldn’t believe it when the call came to say I had won,” Graeme says.

“My wife catches the train to work every day and that’s how she found out about the Lakelands competition. I am thrilled to have won, it’s just amazing.”

Graeme’s prize is a trip for two on his choice of one of the world’s most exciting train journeys including The Orient Express, The Silk Road and The Rocky Mountaineer (Vancouver to Calgary).

Describing the choice between the different trips as a difficult one, Graeme said he couldn’t pass up the chance to travel on The Silk Road.

“The journey from St Petersburg to Beijing is part of history. It’s not just the train journey itself but the sights that you see as well – The Great Wall, the Terra Cotta Soldiers. It will be a truly amazing experience,” Graeme says.

Graeme said in his younger years he served as a train driver and has always been fascinated with trains, especially steam engines.
